Boundary Management

Boundaries are a necessary skill in today’s world. Incorporating boundaries helps identify where things begin and where they start and to highlight who is responsible for what, to minimise chaos. When an individual's boundaries start slipping their lives become unmanageable and frenetic. Ironically, the more they stress, the more they take on. Research shows that anxiety, depression and burnout escalates significantly due to neglect in setting boundaries.

Individuals who struggle to set boundaries and assert themselves are generally people pleasers who fear rejection or individuals who lack self awareness. Unfortunately, poor boundaries result in people setting precedents that aren’t sustainable and lead to utter exhaustion.

Developing an awareness of boundary setting can help an individual to regain control of their lives. It is an essential skill to develop to allow for a healthy way of engaging, both in relationships as well as in the workplace.
