Grief and Loss

Losing a loved one is something we all experience at some point in our lives, often many times. The grieving process can be different for each individual but is often accompanied by feelings of deep sadness, anger and even guilt.

Grief can also manifest from various life circumstances, such as work redundancy, retirement, loss, immigration, divorce, a relationship/friendship break-up or a loss of identity.

Coping with loss

Counselling during loss is incredibly beneficial to allow the brain an opportunity to process what was once there and what is now the current circumstances. Creating a space to digest the ‘new normal’ allows for greater long-term acceptance.

Therapy can also help to identify any unhealthy habits that may develop as a reaction to grief and allow for tools and accountability for a healthier lifestyle.
